Hands & Voices
is a nationwide, parent driven, non-profit organization dedicated
to providing unbiased support to families with children who are
deaf or hard of hearing. We provide support activities and information
concerning deaf and hard of hearing issues to parents and professionals
that may include outreach events, educational seminars, advocacy,
lobbying efforts, parent to parent networking, and a newsletter.
We strive to connect families with resources and information to
make informed decisions around the issues of deafness or hearing
loss.

The Telecommunications
Equipment Distribution Program (TEDP) provides telecommunications
adaptive equipment to qualified low-income citizens living in the
state of Colorado who are Deaf, Hard-of-Hearing, Deaf-Blind, or
Late Deafened. Our goal is to assist individuals in selecting telecommunications
equipment that best suits their communication needs. Examples of
adaptive telephone equipment include TTYs, amplified phones, speaker
phones, ring signaling devices, and specialized telephone equipment
for citizens who are Deaf-Blind.

This
program is funded by the Colorado Commission for the Deaf and
Hard of Hearing (CCDHH) through the Colorado General Assembly
enactment of House Bill 2002-1180 that amended C.R.S. Chapter
215, Article 26.21.106. Monies that are collected as a surcharge
on each residential phone line in the state of Colorado by the
Public Utilities Commission are distributed from the Disabled
Telephone Users Fund.
