Lieutenant Zebulon Montgomery Pike explored the southwest portion of the Louisiana Territory in 1806 and though he never climbed the peak that bears his name, he did publish a report that attracted a lot of interest to the area.

Hosting a Foreign Exchange Student

I work for a foreign exchange company and am looking for a host family for a 16 year old deaf boy from the Philippines. He signs. He competed for and won a very prestigious, merit based, State Dept. scholarship. I plan to enroll him in the School for the Deaf and Blind, but he will need a host family who can use American Sign and lives in the Pueblo-Colorado Springs area. The family must be able to provide a bed and 3 meals per day. He can share a room with another boy within 4 years his age.
